About Me

Who I Am & My Journey

I'm Mohamad Al Eid (Mo) – a personal trainer, nutrition coach, and massage therapist. My path into the health and fitness industry wasn't straightforward, but that's precisely what makes it so valuable today. I'm originally from Syria and came to Germany in 2015 to build a new life. In Syria, I studied law and initially wanted to continue on that path. After arriving, I intensively studied German up to C1 level, restructured my daily routine, and gradually established my foundation in a new country. After my degree was recognized, I began studying business law at HWR Berlin. However, between my studies, work, and the pressure to perform, I increasingly lost my balance – until my body sent clear signals. This phase marked a crucial turning point: I realized that health, exercise, and mindfulness aren't secondary matters, but rather the foundation for everything. This turning point was the beginning of my current journey. I decided to reset my priorities and give my body the importance it deserves. What began as a personal transformation eventually became my calling: to help people consciously regain their health, strength, and quality of life.

My body as the biggest challenge

Over time, I learned how strong the body is – and that it sets clear limits when you push past them. During my studies in Berlin, I was constantly under pressure: studying, working, little sleep, no exercise. Over the years, my body made it increasingly clear that this lifestyle was taking its toll. Pain in my back, joints, and neck became constant companions and increasingly limited my life. Numerous examinations initially yielded no clear results – medically, everything was considered "normal," while I felt less and less resilient in my daily life. This period was challenging – both physically and mentally. It showed me how important it is to listen to the body's signals before they become loud. At the end of 2019, a specialized examination at Charité Hospital finally brought clarity: The diagnosis was ankylosing spondylitis (Bechterew's disease) – a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that primarily affects the spine and pelvis. As difficult as this realization was at first, it meant one thing above all for me: orientation and hope. For the first time, I knew what I was dealing with—and, more importantly, what I could actively do to positively influence my condition. I began to engage intensively with my body. Through targeted training, regular exercise, conscious nutrition, massages, and medical support, I learned to control my symptoms and gradually regain my quality of life. This experience has profoundly shaped my perspective on health, exercise, and regeneration. Today I know: Exercise is neither an obligation nor a luxury—it is the foundation for health, joy of life, and self-confidence.

From My Personal Journey to My Profession

Sport has always been an integral part of my life. Even as a child, movement was an expression of energy, discipline, and joie de vivre for me – whether swimming, karate, fencing, or weight training. In my younger years, I even had the opportunity to win national titles in karate and fencing in Syria. For me, movement was never just training, but rather a way of life and a way of balancing things. Over time, however, sport and recovery took a backseat. Studies, work, and responsibilities led to longer breaks – with noticeable consequences for my body. A particularly formative experience was an early injury during weight training, in which I suffered a slipped vertebra. This injury still affects me today and constantly reminds me how important mindfulness is during training. After my diagnosis and the conscious return to a healthy lifestyle, it became clear to me: Everything that helped me control my symptoms and regain my quality of life was based on the combination of exercise, targeted training, mindful nutrition, and massage. ... This realization sparked a desire to reorient my career path – not from a spontaneous idea, but from my own experience, curiosity, and the goal of helping people on a deeper level. I began intensive professional development – through specialist literature, seminars, practical work, and continuous learning. In 2021, I gained my first professional experience as a massage therapist at SoulHouse, followed in 2022 by my work as a fitness trainer at McFIT. Simultaneously, I built my own business and developed my own approach: individualized, sustainable, and realistic. Since continuous development is essential to me, in 2024 I decided to pursue comprehensive training in personal training, fitness, nutrition, and wellness therapy, which I successfully completed in 2025. Today, I combine professional qualifications with personal experience. My goal is to support people in better understanding their bodies, maintaining long-term health, and combining performance with quality of life. Body Compass

Orientation for Body & Health

BodyCompass grew out of my own story – from injuries, experiences, and the realization that health needs guidance. The name represents exactly what I teach in my work: Understanding your own body, interpreting its signals correctly, and choosing the right path – not short-term or extreme, but sustainable and realistic. After experiencing firsthand how much of a difference movement, targeted training, conscious nutrition, and massage can make, I knew I wanted to share this knowledge. BodyCompass is my way of helping people regain trust in their bodies – regardless of their starting point, age, or limitations. My approach: I work individually, holistically, and practically. Every person brings their own story – both physical and mental. That's why I don't offer standard plans: Training is tailored to your goals, daily routine, and physical condition. Nutrition is realistically designed and easily integrated into your daily life. Regeneration and massage are integral components, not just add-ons. The focus is on pain reduction, performance, and long-term health. My work is not only for ambitious athletes, but also for anyone who: wants to become pain-free (or less pain-free) seeks to regain confidence in their body after injuries or illnesses wants to build a sustainable, healthy lifestyle. BodyCompass stands for honesty, structure, and responsibility – for a path that is and remains achievable.

Athlete, goals & my motivation

Since 2023, I have been an active athlete in natural bodybuilding and regularly compete in competitions. This path is demanding, both physically and mentally – it requires discipline, structure, patience, and consistency. That's precisely why I consciously chose it. My goal is to earn a Pro Card in natural bodybuilding. Not out of ego or self-promotion, but out of conviction. I'm pursuing this path to show myself – and others – that limits often end where clarity, willpower, and a good plan begin. Despite my journey to Germany, despite chronic illness, despite injuries, and regardless of age, I work daily to get the best out of myself. For me, competitive sports are not at odds with health – but rather proof of what's possible when training, nutrition, recovery, and mental strength are in harmony. I live by these principles myself – and I share them in my work. I want to encourage people to follow their own path. Not perfect. Not comparing themselves to others. But honest, consistent, and sustainable. Because I am convinced: The body is stronger than we believe – if we learn to use it correctly.
